Happy summer! May your research be as hot as last week was.
1. New BGSA execs
Let’s welcome all the new and returning BGSA execs!
I’m excited to be your new president and would love to hear from you – compliments, complaints, ideas, and all. Email me at email@example.com any time! Also – I’ll be taking over for Rahul as ListServ Admin, so email me if you want anything posted to the ListServ.
Secretary Takeover 2019 – Also – Michelle Gros will be the secretary for 2018 only – if anyone is interested in taking over either after December or for the entirety of the year, please let us know!
We’re also still looking for a post-doc rep and a BGSA room/help desk admin!
2. Spring Gala
The Spring Gala was a beautiful (if slightly sweaty) success! Thank you to everyone who came, and a special thank you to all those who helped organize! The pictures from our lovely photographer can be found here.
Whether or not you attended, I’d love it if you could fill out this survey. We’d especially love feedback from people who didn’t attend!
3. The mugs are here!!!
What’s white, red, designed by Claire Edrington, and absolutely gorgeous? Our new BGSA mugs – only $11.50 a piece!
We will be prioritizing sales to people who originally signed up, but there will be a few extras! Contact me or Michelle Gros for details.
Stay cool out there!
Fun fact of the week – Human saliva contains a painkiller called opiorphin that is six times more powerful than morphine.
